Firmware upgrade discs are available for a limited range of JVC DVD players as a viable alternative to our 'Self Service Remote Rental' upgrade service. The easy to use upgrade disc is is supplied on CDROM and will alter the firmware of your DVD player so that it will automatically accept DVDs from all six regions including RCE discs from Columbia Tristar. Full instructions on how to perform the upgrade are supplied with the disc. No refunds can be issued on firmware discs once they have been dispatched.
The upgrade procedure is quite straightforward and will cause no harm to the player provided that the instructions are followed correctly. None of your player's original features will be affected by the upgrade. You should be aware that many manufacturers do not approve of multi-region upgrades to their equipment and so carrying out the upgrade may invalidate your warranty with them.
All firmware disc upgrades provide automatic selection for regions 1-6 and are compatible with region 1 RCE discs from Columbia Tristar. The upgrade does not disable Macrovision copy protection. If you need to disable macrovision, please order a Smart Lead in addition to the upgrade disc.
Delivery of firmware discs by first class post is free of charge. Other delivery options are available and can be selected at the checkout. As the firmware upgrade is supplied on CDROM, we do not require it to be returned after use. WARNING: In most cases the disc supplied will be compatible with one specific model of DVD player. Please ensure that the disc which you order matches the make and model of your DVD player. Use of the disc in any other player may cause irrevocable damage.
