Vice1000

£39.99
Vice1000

This little box incorporates the same circuit as the SmartLeads, with the added flexibility of RCA Composite and S-Video jacks built in. This makes for easy to connection to a wide variety of equipment, including those without SCART sockets.

The 'Vice1000' should not be used for the following purposes unless prior permission has been obtained from the Copyright holder:

Copy DVD to DVD
Copy VHS to DVD
Copy DVD to VHS
Record Sky Box Office / Cable pay per view films

The Vice1000 can be used legitimately for timeshift recording of Freeview transmissions where copy protections systems such as Macrovision and CGMS might inadvertently prevent you from doing so. This occurs when the recording device interprets data contained in the vertical blanking interval as copy protection signals and consequently refuses to permit recording.

Features:

  • Flexible connectivity
  • Works with portable MP4 video devices
  • Needs no power supply *
  • Compatible with RGB, S-Video and composite signals
  • Solves Macrovision & CGMS related issues
  • PAL & NTSC compatible

* This device is designed to operate without the need for external power by drawing a supply from pin 8 on the playback device. In some instances (and with portable video recorders), the available current may not be sufficient to power the lead, in which case you will need to use an external DC adaptor. A DC adaptor rated 50mA or above at 7-12 volts (centre positive) will be sufficient. Make sure that the hole in the centre of the plug will fit the pin (2.5mm). These are available from most electrical retailers and some larger supermarkets.
